Announcing…

Sometime in 2001, Circe's Funhouse will log its 20,000th visitor. To celebrate the Funhouse reaching this heady plateau, and all of us reaching this celebrated year, I've devided to take my prideful fascination - nay, obsession with the number of people visiting the Funhouse & the ever-ascending opening page counter to conduct a fun contest for transformation fans everywhere:

E-mail me the date you think the Funhouse counter will log Visitor Number 20,001.
The person who picks (or comes closest to) the correct date will win an original Comus TF drawing
created exclusively for them, precisely to their specifications!

It's my way of saying 'thanks' to everyone who's visited and enjoyed the metamorphic madness that is Circe's Funhouse. Good luck to all! Now for the rules:

- First (and only) prize is a single, b&w pencil drawing of a human-to-animal TF, with the species & method of TF entirely up to the winner! (No x-rated TF's please.)

- The winner can choose to have the original drawing sent to them via regular postal ('snail') mail, or to receive a high-quality (300 dpi or better) image file in the format of their choosing (.psd, .gif, .etc) via E-mail. The picture created for the winner will also be posted in the appropriate (or new!) Funhouse pavillion for all to enjoy.

- Enter via E-mail only to comus1@juno.com; only one entry per person, please! People submitting multiple enties will be disqualified. If the same date is submitted by more than one person, the entry with the earliest date/time stamp - the one submitted first - will be the winner. If you wish, you can include a description of your desired TF image with your entry, or later if yours turns out to be the winner.

- This is important: entries will only be accepted until the counter reaches 19,500! This is to prevent someone from waiting until the last second to submit a no-brainer entry for a date just a handful of days away. (Even though my guess is by that point all the possible winning dates will be chosen by earlier entrants, I want to keep the contest as fair as possible for everyone.)

Hey, these last two rules are almost Circean in their logic: the earlier you enter, the better your chance of claiming the potential winning date for yourself before anyone else does; but the longer you wait, the better shot you might have at targeting the date - if someone else hasn't picked it in the meantime!

One thing I've noticed is that updates tend to 'spike' the counter upwards for a few days, as word spreads & people visit to see the new art. I can't make any promises one way or the other regarding updates during the contest - because at this moment I have no idea if or when I'll have any new art ready to post.

So the possibility of an update is a 'wild card' that might throw your calculations off - assuming you're taking a mathematical approach to picking a date as opposed to random guesswork. To keep from driving you completely crazy, I've decided that if I update during the contest, I won't announce it on Transforum like I usually do. This way, any spike in the count that might occur from a possible update will be natural and not encouraged by me.

All these fershlugginer rules should make for an unpredictable, wide-open contest. Since I opened the Funhouse and started sharing my art with everyone, people keep asking me to try my hand at specific TF's & species. Unfortunately, my crazy, overloaded schedule keeps me from drawing anywhere as much as I'd like to, so the best part of this contest (for me at least) is that I'll get to oblige at least 1 lucky TF fan - just hope the winner's picture will be a blast to create! Bye for now!
